Mike
R. Oliaie is President of O.C. Engineering and Chief
Project Engineer of Chalmers Corporation dba C.E.G.
Construction. Mr. Oliaie and has been involved in
the building industry for over 20 years, He received
his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in
1982 from California State University of Los Angeles,
he also with additional studies toward his Master
of Science Degree at California State University
of Long Beach. Mr. Oliaie is registered as a Professional
Engineer in the State of California and is a member
of the Structural Engineers Association of Southern
California.
In 1982, Mr. Oliaie was employed
as a Jr. Structural Engineer by Coulson &
Hoffman, Structural Engineers (formerly Ross Conners
and Associates), which was one of the leading
structural engineering offices that specialized
in tilt-up buildings in the 1970’s, 80’s,
and early 90’s. During his 11-year tenure,
Mr. Oliaie concentrated on commercial & industrial
buildings with a primary focus on tilt-up buildings.
Mr. Oliaie worked his way up to Chief Project
Engineer. In 1993, he left to start his own engineering
firm known as M.R.O. Engineering, which even became
O.C. Engineering.
During his engineering career,
Mr. Oliaie has successfully completed 600 projects
ranging from 15,000 sq.ft. to 180,000 sq.ft.,
which includes new construction, seismic retrofitting
and tenant improvements. His engineering knowledge,
and superior attitude has helped him to gain a
good rapport with many building and safety departments.
Working closely with the client is Mr. Oliaie’s
primary focus as he believes that working as a
team is essential to achieve the desired outcome.
